About Company

Transas Nautic was founded in 1997 as the leisure division of the Transas Group. These were the days when the interest towards use of PC-based navigation systems by yachtsmen was on the rise.

In 1998 we launched one of the most popular charting systems in the market, Tsunamis '99. The system, available both as Coastal or Offshore version, was nominated for METS Design Award (DAME) . Transas Nautic currently issues four CD's a year to update chart information on a regular basis, introducing new charts and new areas to the current database (150 new charts per issue).

Transas has come a long way since, several generations of systems alternated, the world chart collection grew up to become the catalogue of 13.000 charts. The only thing which was never subject to changes were company foundations, resulting in the world leading position in the leisure market today.
